Impressive display by Solberg in auto slalom

While still trailing behind in the over all results, professional rally driver Henning Solberg proved his skills in the auto slalom contests in Kristansand and Lyngdal.

Impressive display by Solberg in auto slalom

Henning Solberg did well in the auto slalom events, while racing colleague Leilani Munter was less fortunate, damaging her drive shaft in the event.

The auto slalom event, driving through a short and very tight course, puts the smaller vehicles at at decided advantage. But WRC rally driver Henning Solberg proved his considerable driving skills by negotiating the track in Kristiansand to a impressive overall first and coming in second in the similar event in Lyngdal in his Ford Focus, built for the highway rather than the slalom course. That, of course, put him squarly in the lead of his own hydrogen fuelled class in both events.

In the electric vehicle class, Tore Skjervheim of the Think 1 team won in Kristiansand, while Espen Pedersen secured first place in Lyngdal with his Tesla, and inge Møller of Eidsiva won the plug-in hybrid event at both venues.

Leilani Munter, also a professional driver, was expected to perform well today, but unfortunately experienced problems with the drive shaft of her Ford Focus in Kristiansand, forcing her to abandon the rest of the events for the day.
