Engan sisters win hydrogen class
Driver Marlene Engan and co-driver Veronica Engan of the NAF Team won the hydrogen class of the EVS Viking Rally 2009 with their Quantum Prius.
- It was great fun participating in this competition, and of course even more fun to win, says driver Marlene Engan. None of the girls have ever won a rally before, nor driven hydrogen cars.
- The Quatum Prius worked very well. It was just like driving any other car, I would happily own a vehicle like this, if only more hydrogen filling stations become available.
Winner of the plug-in class was the Eidisiva Energi Team, with Inge Møller in the driver seat.
- The most important thing was to beat the Swedes, says the Norwegian jokingly. This year the plug-in class consisted of only to teams, the other team being the Swedish Gothenburg Street Team.
- Partcipating in this race proved to me that plug-in hybrids are road ready. The car has worked very well, even with the rough treatment it's been through in this competition. I believe this may be the future, says Møller.
